Fiduciary Training

This presentation will provide attendees with critical fiduciary training. We will review basic components of a retirement plan, duties of a fiduciary, and responsibilities of the committee. We will also review some common themes from recent lawsuits and an action plan to be a better fiduciary.

Meet the Speakers

 
Marcella Carroll
Marcella (Marcie) Carroll currently serves as Director of Business Development and Senior Consultant at Cafaro Greenleaf/Carroll Consultants. With over 20 years of experience in the retirement industry, Marcie has a great depth of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of retirement plans. Marcie received a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College. Following her graduation, she worked at MetLife Insurance Company in the Group Benefits Division. After several years at MetLife, she joined Carroll Consultants, Ltd. where she served as Principal for several years. She is licensed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and currently holds a Series 65 license and Life and Health licenses. She regularly attends committee meetings and is passionate about the importance of education at both the committee and the participant levels. Currently, Marcie resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia and enjoys spending time with her family, running, and traveling.

Harold Hartsig IIIHarold G. (Buzz) Hartsig III currently serves as the Managing Director of Operations at Cafaro Greenleaf/Carroll Consultants. With over 25 years of experience in the qualified retirement plan industry, Buzz has extensive experience in the oversight and operations of retirement plans and assisting plan fiduciaries with their fiduciary responsibilities. He has consistently used his knowledge and experience to deliver best practices and innovative tools to better serve clients. Buzz has spent his entire professional career in planning, designing, and implementation as well as sales and servicing of retirement plans for public and private corporations, healthcare organizations, and not-for-profit entities. Buzz graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, concentrating in actuarial science. Buzz has worked with Carroll Consultants for the past 23 years where he gained experience with defined contribution and defined benefit plan designs, plan administration, record keeping, investments, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Buzz enjoys proactively collaborating with clients to help design plans and procedures to meet client objectives for their qualified plans.

Registration

All webinars are $50 per session but are FREE to anyone from a MISBO member school. Webinars are one hour in length and begin at 2pm ET.


CPE Credit

MISBO is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
