Summer Summit: Talent Acquisition

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This event brings together leaders from the independent school community who know that finding, recruiting, evaluating, and hiring the people charged with carrying out the school’s mission are some of the most significant responsibilities they have to ensure the long-term sustainability and viability of the school. The days of “who do you know?” or “let’s post an ad and see what happens” are long gone. They have been replaced with sophisticated, research-based processes that are drawn from the business world and from the most effective practices non-profits have engaged in. 

Over the course of two and a half days, participants will hear from presenters about their journeys to reimagine a vetting process that addresses questions, seeks alignment, complies with regulations, and identifies mission-appropriate candidates, all the while identifying and checking biases to get the right people on board and set up for success. Participants will engage in facilitated activities to spark their own creativity and imagination while challenging their school’s process to improve.

Presenters include: Nishant Mehta, Head of School, The Children’s School; Pat Cuneo, Director of Academic Affairs, Athens Academy; Kathleen Cole, Director of Human Resources, The Children’s School; Jeff Stachura, Director of Middle School, Athens Academy; Jennifer Suggs, Chick-Fil-A; Heather Broadwater, Potomac Law Group.

REGISTRATION

Registration is $505 for non-member schools and $425 for MISBO member schools until our Early Bird date of May 29, 2018. After May 29, 2018, registration will be $575 for non-member schools and just $495 for MISBO member schools.

CPE CREDIT

MISBO is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
