David M Adams

David serves as the Director for Governmental and Not-for-Profit banking at SouthState Bank. While his experience includes many facets of public finance, the past 14 years, he has been focused predominantly on education finance.
Over his career, David has provided both financial advisory and bond underwriting services to independent schools up and down the East Coast, including: Charlotte Latin School, Lake Highland Preparatory School, The Putney School, Providence Day School, Episcopal High School, Shorecrest Preparatory School, Charlotte Country Day School, The Gulliver Schools and Ravenscroft School, as well as many others.
He has worked in the not-for-profit industry for 34 years, having served as an investment banker for 30. The other four years, he served as the Chief Financial and Operations Officer of The Charlotte Museum of History, a not-for-profit, cultural institution located in Charlotte. From these diverse experiences, David provides value-added guidance incorporating all aspects of not-for-profit strategic planning and operations.
Mr. Adams received his Bachelor of Sciences in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Business Administration from the Babcock School at Wake Forest University.
