Description: St. Andrew's-Sewanee School's leadership, architect, and project manager went through a very successful master planning experience. Initially, the school was actively engaged with their strategic plan. Aware of their financial limitation, the possibility of a grant forced the school to start the master plan process before the completion of their strategic plan. This caused some discord among committee members and staff, resulting in the need for understanding and comprehension of the master planning process and its overall effect on the future of the campus. This session will explain the important role each member played, highlight lessons learned, and reveal key aspects to the project’s success.
- Learning Objective: Attendees will be able to recognize and interpret roles and responsibilities for all involved; understand the process of master planning should be customized to an institution; and be able to demonstrate that equipped school leadership, sound technical guidance, and effective process management are all key aspects in a fruitful and truly useful campus master planning effort.Field of Study: Management Services - Technical
