Early Childhood Assistant Toddler Teacher
St. Martin’s Episcopal School is looking for an Early Childhood Assistant Toddler Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. The strong preference is for an enthusiastic educator who has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in child development or early education, and has at least one year experience teaching in early childhood. The candidate could also be a high school graduate, working towards a degree in early education, and must hold a current State of Georgia (Bright from the Start) Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and Toddler Caregivers, plus two years of experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood program. Candidates should be experienced professionals who embrace working in a highly collaborative, collegial environment to support child development.

Early Childhood Toddler Teachers operate the classroom in compliance with all Georgia child care licensing standards. S/He ensures that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with good child development principles. This includes routines related to diapering, hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities and co-curricular classes. The position also ensures that parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences at the school through daily contacts and regularly scheduled parent conferences. The Teacher provides daily care individually to each infant, including but not limited to diapering every 2 hours and feeding on demand. The Teacher also observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional distress, or other special needs and report these signs immediately to the Early Childhood Principal.
