Assistant Business Manager Job Description

The Assistant Business Manager is a full-time, twelve month position reporting to the Director of Finance. The position's primary responsibility is to assist the director by providing administrative and accounting support, and general office management for the Business Office.

Primary Duties

  1. Manage the Student Billing process, including posting daily cash receipts, preparing and executing the monthly tuition draft, preparing and mailing the annual student contracts and coordinating the recording process, posting daily and monthly tuition and fee charges to student accounts, and recording daily transactions in the general ledger
  2. Manage the other School Cash Receipt process by preparing deposit and journal entries for miscellaneous cash receipts, such as gate revenue, lunch revenue, ancillary organization receipts, etc.
  3. Manage the Accounts Payable process, including ordering items on approved purchase orders, maintaining files on outstanding approved purchase orders, and writing checks for accounts payable invoices as they come due.
  4. Manage the Petty Cash fund, reconciling and replenishing on an as needed basis.
  5. Prepare and mail financial aid packets and collate financial aid information for financial aid committee.
  6. Set up and maintain office filing systems using best practices for record retention.
  7. Assists the director, as necessary, in all areas including the Financial Oversight, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Financial Aid
  8. Initiates routine tasks and actions not requiring immediate attention of the director
  9. Collaborates with other members of the administrative staff on projects or overflow work, as needed.
  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

The Assistant Business Manager Assistant will be an hourly employee. Normal School Year Office hours are M, T, Th, F, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, W, 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Summer Office Hours are 9:00 -1:00..
