Professional Development
MISBO is dedicated to encouraging excellence and creative leadership in business and financial management of independent schools. Its purpose is to open channels for communication on business matters important to independent schools. MISBO meets this need by encouraging professionalism and by exposing members to outstanding business leaders both inside and outside the field of education. MISBO serves to cultivate professional attitudes, ideals, standards, and ethics by conducting meetings, seminars, and workshops.

MISBO Purchasing 
Collaborative Purchasing is available to all MISBO Member Schools. MISBO Purchasing facilitates the joint procurement of goods and services for its member schools. The purchasing power of 300± schools makes MISBO's vendor contracts very attractive, and offer member schools pricing they could not achieve on their own.  

Surveys
MISBO offers its member schools the option to participate in several surveys. Schools that participate in the surveys have access to the data. Surveys are administered in the following areas: Financial, Fringe Benefits, Business Officers Salaries, and Financial Aid.

Legal Advisor
As a member of MISBO, you will have access to an attorney that specializes in human resource issues. A member may call to seek guidance on matters pertaining to employment law.

Insurance Program
MISBO has developed a special program that focuses on the coverage needs that are important to the independent schools. The program includes an expanded commercial package with broad coverage at competitive rates.

Foreign - Student insurance and foreign travel is also available. 

Member Listserv
A listserv is available to members to post questions to their peers on matters of concern. Access to the listserv is limited to the Financial Officer of the school due to the sensitivity of the subject matter.
